The Quiet Unemployment

In different places, many mid-career and senior level professionals are quietly facing unemployment. People with long careers of commitment and high professional value, who once moved easily between roles, now find themselves investing long days in job searching. Not all efforts are visible too, there are those who continue to go unseen despite their abilities. Some dream of waking up again with purpose, ready to put on a suit and head to the office, while others struggle to find the energy to start the day. Behind all this are personal lives and families placed on hold.

While many speak of this phase as a chance to pursue work independently, not everyone is looking for that. I took whatever door opened to me when it happened, but this is not what some seek. Some still long for the meaning and structure that come with being part of a workplace, a team, a shared goal.

I pray that my friends, and others in similar situations, find the recognition they deserve soon.
